I was at an event the other week with some incredible people with awesome talents. I happened to hear part of the conversation and they were upset that people just don’t “get” them or what they do. They don’t understand them.

Have you ever felt that way before?

I hear this often with the people I work with. They are passionate in the healing arts, nutrition, environment, and the list goes on. They blame the fact that they don’t have clients because the prospects out there don’t know any better.

What is wrong with this picture?

Yo hablo español y me encanta hablarlo pero sé que hay personas que no me van a entender. ¿Qué debo hacer?

For some of you, you understand what I wrote, and for others it is a foreign language. I have been speaking Spanish for over 34 years and it is one of my passions. Up above, I said, “I speak Spanish and love to speak it, but I know that there are people that are not going to understand me. What should I do?”

All of you would immediately say, speak in their language. Many times I see people talking about what they do using big complicated words and scientific terminology. It might impress people with the big words, but they won’t want to buy. They don’t understand why it can help them. The person is not speaking their language.

What is the pain that your potential client is faced with? What gets them up in the middle of the night worried? People don’t wake up in the middle of the night worried that they need a transformational experience. They don’t wake up with a need to connect to the cosmic energies. They need to know their health will be fine, that their finances will improve, that their relationships will thrive. That’s what people will pay you for and that’s the language that everyone understands.

The challenge that most service people have is that they confuse their process with the results. They feel they need to explain every single thing they do, so that the other person will buy from them.
