Expect surprises!
When you hear that phrase, where does your mind go to first? Fun surprises, or challenging ones? This alone will give you an idea of what is happening in your life, your business, your finances, and your connection with your spirituality. What you expect shows up with more force because we are powerful creators of our reality.
We are so used to the surprise repair bill for our house, our car, the surprise medical bills, the surprise technological bills for our business, etc. And we reserve the idea of fun surprises in our life only for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and other momentous events.
I believe that one of the reasons we don’t honor those wonderful surprises in our lives is because we don’t honor our own inner knowing. Out intuitive way of coming up with answers that might not seem congruent with “reality”. When we discount our inner knowing, the magic doesn’t show up as often. That which we pay attention to thrives and grows. I’m sure you get the picture. When you go out to get the mail, do you envision bills, or maybe a letter from someone you haven’t heard from in a while? And are you proactive, and at times being that friend sending something to someone else?
I was speaking at an event this past weekend and did an experiential exercise. Many people had different experiences and insights, and others did not notice any change. It’s such a pressure at those moments to honor our own inner knowing. Some people see things as energy, others hear them, others feel them in their body, and some process it in the dreamtime. When we can be comfortable with how we connect with our inner knowing, we have more access to the magic and the surprises that light up our life in our relationships, family, business, finance, and spirituality.
This past weekend I was surprised that the 5 Rhythms movement center was in Minneapolis. And at the same time it made perfect sense. I honored that inner knowing to check out their workshops, and to dream that dream. I didn’t realize at the time that it started on the day of an important anniversary moment for me and realized that this was no accident. We have everything provided to us to help us through the challenging times and the beautiful opportunities. It’s about connecting with that inner knowing and also expecting the surprises that will lead you to a more enlightened way of being.
