Business is hard work. No doubt about it. However, the goal is to work smarter and not harder. Over this past year I have seen people working like crazy and not getting the results they would like. They keep on trying to do it the way they know how, and things seem to fall through. One thing I notice is that many of these people are not getting the help they need. The big reason they have for it is money. They don’t have money for a coach, or someone to help them. And in the long run, they are losing much more money trying to do it on their own.
This past week I have tackled one of my big hurdles of exercise and eating well. I had joined a fitness club and knew I wanted to lose weight. There was an optional package to have my stats taken, explained to me, and then coached on the optimal way for ME to use the equipment. Now instead of spending hours in the gym, I can spend less time because I know how to be more effective. AND, I’m not self sabotaging because I have had advice tailored for my needs. I tended to watch people around me, and match their pace. And I got super dizzy one time. My coach told me the next day that I could still get awesome results and slow it down by half of what I was doing.
Now, this is an example from a health perspective. But how many of you are doing this in your own business? You keep on working harder and harder, and not getting the results you would like? You compare yourself to others and self-sabotage because there is no way that you can be like the other person?
These things are all too common out there, and it leaves you in a difficult situation. When you invest in yourself, the benefits far outweigh (no pun intended) the original investment.
