Getting Back Up, Facing Fears, and Rejuvenation

Last Friday I taught the workshop, “Awaken Your Spiritual Rebel” in Minnesota to a sold out room of 28 people.  It went deeper than I could have every imagined.  It was great.  Then I drove across country with my husband and dog to get ready for the New York and Rhode Island events.  It has been intense and I’m learning a lot.
I decided to share what has been happening in the last week with me since it is also a predominant theme for many of you at this time.  And also, you know I love transparency.  We all do our inner work.  The themes might be the same, but the way we face them are all unique to ourselves.
Here are some common themes that I see with others and which were super up for me this past week.
1. What if nobody attends the event?  Minnesota is my home state, and I have deep connections with people there.  I knew doing an event in July in MN would be taking a chance.  A lot of people are on vacation.  I also knew that many in MN were asking for me to come out and do more of my work there.  Solution:  I trusted my intuitive guidance to do the event there.  I took a lot of action and emailed people, asked others to share.  I energetically prepared myself.  And I let go of the results.  However, letting go of the results doesn’t mean giving up early or throwing in the towel.  I put it out there.  And I treated it like all my events and offerings.  It didn’t matter that the price point was far lower than other ones I have.  I put my full attention to the event because I honor the people.  Moral of the story: Do your personal best, ask for support, and don’t give up.
2.  Receiving support and being grateful.  I talk a lot about asking for support, and that is the first step.  Receiving takes it to the next level.  I had my event at the home of Paulie Skaja (Possibility Producers) and knew it would be amazing.  She provided beverages, food, and an amazing energetic space.  It was beyond what I expected and at the same time so welcomed.
I also had amazing support from my mom who let us stay with her, and she made many of my favorite meals while I was preparing. Moral of the story: Even if you are one who tries to do it all, learn to let go and ask for support.  It doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human.
3.  Creating boundaries and honoring my body.  I talked a lot about boundaries in last weeks post.  I knew that I could only do so much and made conscious choices about my time.  Visit with family and one good friend.  I admit I didn’t honor my body as much, and it affected me a lot.  This is my weakness and now I am more aware to be well hydrated and eat small meals before an event.  Moral of the story: Let your values drive your boundaries.  Make conscious choices with your time.
4.  Facing fears.  We arrived in Connecticut after two days of intense driving to stay with a friend who had graciously offered to let us stay at her home while she is gone.  However, I needed to take her to LaGuardia airport in New York City, during rush hour.  Here’s the deal.  I’m 49, never been to New York City, and have a big fear of it and the traffic.  For many it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for me it was. My first instinct was to have my husband drive, but I knew I had to face it.  It went amazing.  Moral of the story:  Everyone has fears, and they might seem small to some but big to you.  Honor your fear and take action.  On the other side is excitement of possibilities that are now open to you.
5.  Getting back up.  After all the travel, new locations, workshops, meeting with family and friends, I realized I was exhausted and burned out.  I still had a lot to do, but know self care is critical.  So, I took a day to rest and not do much.  Moral of the story: To get back up, you need to have the energy to do so.  Recharge your batteries and then go forward.
This month of July is interesting.  It is a time of bringing balance to our lives.  There is a deep need for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.  And at the same time, underneath the surface there is an intense push to step into your rebels journey even more.  In the process you will find your unique balance, encounter your unique fears, and do it your way.

I would love to hear more comments from you on my blog.
Also, if you know of anyone in the New York City area or Rhode Island, please share these events with them.  They are really moving energy for so many people.
